PetPriceTag shows what a dog really costs to own: the price of getting one, the first year, every year after, and the lifetime total. Most people budget for the puppy and get surprised by everything else.

Every breed runs through the same cost model with the same sourced US prices, so a Beagle and a Bernese Mountain Dog compare fairly. Each breed page lists its sources, and the methodology page lists every price baseline and assumption.

The site is independent and funded by advertising. No breeder, insurer or pet company pays for placement or influences the numbers.
